Background

About Richard Grace

Electronics Technician with both hardware, networking, and software experience. Skilled in timely completion of electronic system development and maintenance, including installation of network cable. Proficient in Python, and experienced in a variety of other languages. A highly competent independent contributor and collaborator who thrives in a dynamic and progressive setting. Searching for a technical support and/or development position, preferably software-based electronic system support or communications. Responsible team player in the preventative maintenance and repair of over 700 traffic signals within the St. Louis county region. Deemed an essential employee by the county, supported all the county-owned traffic signals during the pandemic shutdown; during an early phase was one of two active signal technicians. Independently developed a hardware/software solution with variables that can be modified during pedestrian use to extend crossing times as needed (e.g, for large groups). A prototype of this project is currently being tested in the field and is being considered for patent. Independently developed a hardware solution for wirelessly-controlled school speed zone beacons in order to simplify beacon time schedule changes. Solution has been finalized and adopted county-wide. Developing a solution prototype to help technicians verify detection of vehicles and pedestrians at a traffic signal. Independently developed a full-stack PHP application for Sigma-Aldrich, fulfilling a federal requirement for the product safety group, and migrated existing data between systems. The self-contained application supported searching for and displaying existing Safety Data Sheet records for use by global packaging sites onto a single page. Collected evolving requirements from multiple internal sources and coordinated with the department manager.
