About Richard Grimes

After attending college, I immediately began working on a survey crew. I am well versed in all aspects of land surveying and have extensive experience in construction layout, including calculating stakeout points. I was the primary field surveyor for approximately one year in the Williams Moundsville Fractionator plant, where my crew and I were responsible for calculating stakeout points, and examining tray towers and the flair stack for plumbness after they were set. The work also included marking grade for concrete pours, as well as staking anchor rods and foundations. I have a tremendous amount of boundary survey experience, with many years of experience operating a total station and RTK GPS equipment. I am experienced with Survey Pro data collector software and are also proficient in the use of Carlson Survey CAD software. Recently, I have become the licensed drone pilot for the Ohio Field Office of JHA Companies, where I will manage and operate drone surveys. In September of 2019 i was moved into the office to draft West Virginia gas well Permits as well as provide support for the registered surveyors by preparing field work for the field crew as well as drafting survey plats and writing descriptions. As of September of 2020 I have been given project management duties for some survey projects. Those duties include coordinating with field crew and the Registered Surveyor and being the point of contact for the client. I have also been in charge of managing the budget and making sure the project deadlines are met.
