About Richard Healy
I currently work in research and policy for AHEAD Ireland, working to help create inclusive environments for disabled students and help then achieve coherent and equitable pathways to the labour market upon graduation. I research in all areas pertaining to inequality, human rights and service user provision, in particular in health. I have published a number of reports and academic literature on disability, drug service use and homelessness. I finished my PhD in 2020 in Maynooth University and was an Irish Research Council & John Hume Scholar. In general,my work is informed by the realisation of rights for stigmatised or marginalised populations. I have presented my work throughout Europe, and continue to do so on a regular basis. The vast majority of my work is qualitative research, buttressed by real life narratives and experiences.
