Richard is an Associate Director of Litigation in the Commercial and Private Client Department of Thursfields Solicitors. Richard has a broad general practice and is often instructed in disputes involving the recovery of high valued debt; fraud cases and in particular losses arising from automated push payments scams; proprietory estoppel claims involving property; contract disputes; disputes arising from consumers issues; dilapidations claims arising from commercial premises; boundary disputes; civil injunctions and the obtaining of Civil Restraint Orders. Richard is comfortable with acting on behalf of Claimants in progressing their claims through the Courts but equally adept in acting on behalf of Defendants. Richard is also regularly instructed on behalf of Lenders whereby he is instructed to deal with professional negligence claims, most frequently against Surveyors and Solicitors through the High Court. Richard's Lender practice results in him having a vast experience of the recovery of Mortgage Shortfalls and dealing with allegations of sales at undervalue and limitation. In addition, Richard acts in complex Mortgage Arrears cases whereby issues of undue influence and fraud can often arise. Richard has experience of Financial Services claims. He has acted successfully through to trial for a number of Lenders in cases in relation to mis-selling of investment products. Richard is a keen advocate of ADR and its use to settle claims in a timely and cost-effective manner.
