Richard Kaplan is an award-winning producer and pioneer in the journalism profession. His expertise and experiences in TV news span more than 40 years of in-depth reporting and innovative producing on national and international stories and shows. Kaplan has received numerous awards for his work, including numerous Emmy’s, Overseas Press Club Awards, and George Foster Peabody Awards. Mr. Kaplan lectures on journalism at University of Illinois, and politics and public policy at Harvard and University of Penn. In 2016 Kaplan became Senior Vice President of Content & Strategy to the internet startup company “COUNTABLE”, which enables citizens to better engage with their elected officials. At “COUNTABLE,” Kaplan is focused on building a news operation that will better inform users about what is going on in the halls of government. Kaplan is also a Senior Advisor to the internet startup company “EPICURED”, which serves the needs of the millions of Americans suffering from conditions such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Celiac Disease (CD) and Non-Celiac Gluten Sensitivity (NCGS). Rick attended University of Illinois where he received a BA in economics and political science and holds several honorary degrees.
