About Richard Li

Hey! I am a BA candidate in Computer Science & Mathematics at Columbia University, passionate about building scalable, user-friendly software and advancing AI-research. I truly enjoy what Computer Science has to offer, from iteratively getting a website to look "just right", to eliminated red-squiggles and fine-tuning deep learning models. I aspire to bridge software and machine learning to solve real-world problems.I have led and contributed to high-impact projects across AI startups, biomedical, ML, and astrophysics research labs, and full-stack web development. Highlights include:* AI & Deep Learning: Optimized a deep learning contrastive model for identifying human actions (mAP increased 40%).* Biomedical Research: Developed novel, automated pipelines (Python, R, Seurat) to process single-cell RNA-seq data* Full-stack Engineering: Built end-to-end web applications using modern webtools (Bootstrap, React), frameworks (React, Node.js/FastAPI) and databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB), including a platform that won a 1st-place hackathon prize. I'm excited to apply my skills in environments ranging from academic research groups to big tech teams and innovative startups. Let's connect!
