About Richard MacKlin

Richard coaches individuals and teams to get practical results for more inspirational leadership, more effective market differentiation and deeper personal fulfilment. He is member of the teaching Faculty at Meyler Campbell, an associate of the Møller Institute at the University of Cambridge, a course contributor at Oxford Saïd Business School and an advisory board member of Imperial College’s MBA programm. Based in London, he previously spent over 10 years living and working in New York, Paris and Brussels. Drawing on his own frontline experience as a global leader and local manager, he gets straight to the heart of his clients’ needs and drivers, and then partners with them to develop pragmatic strategies that work. Richard’s many leadership roles include: • serving on the Global Board of the world’s largest law firm as Global Vice Chair and Global Client Partner, responsible for the global marketing strategy for a $2.5bn business located in 82 countries worldwide; • founding and general management of several international offices; • general management of a multi-national M&A division; • Over 30 years’ experience leading teams in the execution of complex M&A transactions across Europe, USA and key frontier markets Middle East, Africa, Latin America and China. He is deeply committed to diversity and inclusion in terms of gender, ethnicity, and social mobility, with a keen interest in ensuring cognitive diversity too, not only in the boardroom but at the roots of the business, influencing recruitment policy and leadership development. He is a mentor for the 30% Club (promoting women in FTSE 250 board rooms) and proud to have worked in a business that was in the Stonewall 100 for four consecutive years. He speaks frequently around the world, often to audiences of several thousand, on market disruption, innovation, sales culture, entrepreneurship and international strategy, and regularly delivers training at NYU, King’s College London, the University of Cambridge and Imperial College (where he serves on the Advisory Board of the MBA programme). He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Coaching at Harvard Medical School and serves on Advisory Board of The Big Change, a Virgin family charity focussed on improving education.
