About Richard Montgomery

In 20 quick years I have risen from an eager junior firefighter to a published Clinical and Safety & Risk manager for the largest ambulance service in the United States. I have had the honor of rising through the ranks from a paratrooper and medic in the United States Army to a Critical Care Paramedic Instructor. My experiences in the oil and gas industry as the chief medical officer on numerous offshore installations has taught me the value of efficiency, the importance of a collaborative culture of safety and a deep appreciation for dry land. Coordinating multiple helicopters on station and on approach while communicating with a crane operator lifting equipment I ordered the week prior off the 250 foot vessel in the water below is a simple Tuesday afternoon for me. I am no stranger to logistics and I naturally take command of situations when order is needed. Now that the adventure days at sea have concluded, I have focused hard upon my career with AMR. I am responsible for the clinical Education, oversight and compliance as well as the safety and risk management of 400+ employees spread over 6 counties in a service area with 3 million people. I am also the Critical Care Coordinator and have successfully designed a system for credentialing that brings multiple operations from all over the state of Florida together under one curriculum, one standard and one source of guidance and leadership by committee. This has a drastic positive impact on our performance, efficiency and customer satisfaction. Additionally I manage our Sharepoint site and am very proficient in Microsoft Office Programs, Adobe Creative Cloud programs for film, photo and print editing and I am a super user with Logic. I enjoy carpentry and composing music digitally as hobbies.
