About Richard Morris

For the past 17 years, I have created a dynamic educational environment where knowledge acquisition is optimized through student engagement, motivation, and active participation in the learning process. I made a new curriculum for college-level design courses and adapted previous classes to account for changes in technology and techniques. I am skilled in identifying individual student needs and learning styles, as well as employing project-based methodologies that enhance learning outcomes. My methods facilitated the seamless transition from student to employee. My approach fosters confidence-building alongside knowledge acquisition by emphasizing real-world applications in the classroom. Previously teaching classes at Platt College San Diego, I was particularly adept at instructing creative types on improving their workflow so they can spend less time confused by the software and more time doing what they love: creating. Since we served a large, diverse group of students (from teenagers fresh out of high school to military veterans), I found various ways to connect with and motivate students to respect their craft and improve daily. I previously taught Portfolio Development, Digital Publishing for Print, Raster Graphics, and an intro course using Graphic Design with Social Media. These classes focused on Adobe InDesign and Photoshop and creating campaigns on various social media platforms.
