I am passionate about teaching and the role we play at Melbourne Polytechnic preparing graduates for a career where their skills include a sustainable approach to all they do and lifelong learning, as well as the role the VET sector plays providing life changing skills and uplift for marginalised communities. Skilled and experienced leader-manager with demonstrated excellence in motivating teams and individuals, through change, to deliver goals and build organisational culture. Innovative and engaging, values driven, inclusive, energetic and successful in development and delivery of horticultural and leadership programs that aspire to educational excellence and place the learner at the centre of the experience. Innovative teacher and learning facilitator with a well developed capacity to distil the complex into manageable, relatable and relevant practical learning. Outstanding success in delivering award winning creative and engaging landscapes, gardens and zoo exhibits, experiences connecting people with wildlife and the natural world and creating positive conservation and environment outcomes. An industry professional with strong and broad personal and professional connections across botanic and heritage gardens, zoos, retail and commercial nurseries, not for profits and community based social enterprises. I have a Graduate Certificate in AVET (Deakin) as well a Graduate Certificate in Competitive Systems and Practices (Lean), a Diploma of Applied Science (Horticulture), a Diploma of Project Management and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
