Hi, I’m Richard — a Software Engineer with 3+ years of experience designing and building robust backend systems and scalable data workflows. I’ve worked across both monolithic and microservice-based architectures. I started by modernizing a legacy PHP system, migrating performance-critical components to Lumen — making the codebase more modular and maintainable. Most recently, I contributed to a Spring Boot-based microservices platform where I- Built and enhanced backend APIs - Implemented secure JWT-based authentication - Designed group-based access control integrated with LDAP - Managed traffic via Spring Cloud Gateway with custom filters and role-based routing I also led the development of an Email Integration Service that streamlined incident workflows. It allowed users to reply to structured emails or raise new requests directly via Outlook. I handled MS Graph webhook subscriptions, Azure-based credential flows, and email parsing logic. On the data side, I’ve written DAGs using Apache Airflow for ingesting and transforming SIEM logs, and explored Spark-based streaming systems (like an internal Correlation Engine) to understand real-time event processing under dynamic rule evaluation. I’m AWS Cloud Practitioner certified, with cybersecurity fundamentals certified by (ISC)². I’m passionate about building secure, efficient backend systems that solve real-world problems — especially in data-sensitive domains like infrastructure, security, and healthcare.
