About Richard Stapleton

Though initially I had no guidance in terms of what career path I wished to take, the week of my 16th birthday I responded to a local paper job offer, left school and began work in Headfort Golf Club. Over 20 years on and I've never looked back. I believe you should never stop learning and so I have never been afraid to vary my workplace or type of work. This logic has given me more skills and experience than I could ever gain in one job. I've worked on practically all sports surfaces one can think of (under and above ground), construction sites, roads, etc. I've used and become proficient with all types of machinery from hand held to large plant. I marked this by getting a chemical spraying license, chainsaw cert, truck license and 360° excavator ticket. I took on to design my own house and learned everything required along the way to complete it's construction internally and externally. I've worked alongside every different type of character you can think of. All of the above has made me very adaptable to any situation. My chosen sport of Olympic Target Shooting taught me about goal setting, striving for perfection, and learning about the technicalities and requirements of what it takes to achieve great things. I'm modest, never admit to knowing it all and always want to better myself. My wife and two children have shown me the importance of being a good influence and role model to others.
