About Richard Watson

An experienced principal design engineer of a wide variety of products for media, office, laboratory, transport, medical and packaging environments. From high volume injection mouldings and castings, to mass production fabrications and low volume prototyping, I have a keen appreciation of designing for a variety of manufacturing methods, material selection, assembly techniques and aesthetic styling. I have extensive experience in leading cross discipline development projects, incorporating electronics to deliver a harmonised and reliable end product, employing DFMA, FMEA, CFD / Thermal Simulation and FEA disciplines. Utilising a combination of engineering and management techniques I have been responsible for delivering many high quality products on time, while also meeting commercial targets for manufacturing, coordinated across a range of on-shore and off-shore suppliers. Specialties: New Product Development, 3D CAD design, Certified Training in Solidworks, Pro-E and SDRC I-DEAS. Solidworks Professional and Advanced Surfacing Certificates.
