Richard was employee no.1 in the UK for VX Fiber,(a global telco fibre operator), driving the strategy for the start of the full fibre ‘evolution’ or rather ‘revolution’! By networking with Central Government and then Local Government he set VX Fiber on a path to become the UK specialist in Open Access Fibre Operations ultimately partnering with Local Authorities in delivering digital transformation. With well over £100m invested in fibre infrastructure in the UK and with a full team of deployment, delivery and operations it is no surprise that the business was acquired by Digital Bridge; one of the world’s largest infrastructure investors. “I like nothing better that helping a business understand its vision and drivers and setting strategy to fulfil its ambitions. Then rolling up the sleeves and making it happen!” Before telecoms Richard had wonderful and varied business experiences; first enjoying a 20 year career in the central London Real Estate scene. From here Richard moved into IT and marketing to build up and sell a web and ERP business. Then into management consulting including an interim role as joint European Marketing Director with one of Europe’s leading food brands; Ellas Kitchen. Richard is also very proud to be chairman of the trustee board for the Hampshire MIND charity.
