I'm a Seniior Advisor to MSCI. I joined MSCI at the start of 2024 after their acquisition of Fabric, which I co-founded. Now the work we did at Fabric, providing a platform for risk aware portfolio design for the wealth management community, is being multiplied through the power and reach of MSCI. My work at MSCI is the culmination of a wide set of roles I have had during my career: I've had chief risk officer roles at Morgan Stanley, Bridgewater, and the University of California pension. I'm the author of The End of Theory (Princeton, 2017) and A Demon of Our Own Design. Outside of work you can find me at the Renzo Gracie Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy in midtown NYC, where I've been training for nearly 30 years, and am a black belt.
