About Rick Fox

I am a Principal Scientist and Vice President at Ramboll. in Milwaukee, WI with over 30 years of professional consulting experience throughout the United States. I focus on sediment issues associated with large polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) sediment sites, including the Fox River in Wisconsin and Hudson River in New York, and former manufactured gas plant (MGP) sites. I have been hired as an Expert for complex sediment work. My experience includes depositions, designing and conducting expert studies, preparing expert reports and rebuttal reports, and testifying as both a fact witness and an expert witness. I am a strategist for complex contaminated sediment projects, and excel at creating an environment of cooperation between responsible parties and Agencies where there is a high level of communication and trust. Projects conducted under this model have proven to more readily attain a "win-win" scenario. Under this environment, we have developed creative approaches to managing portfolios of contaminated sediment sites and for performing designs for highly complex sediment remediation projects. I was an invited instructor in the National Association of Remedial Managers (NARPM) training on contaminated sediments and an invited expert USEPA and USACE “4Rs Workshop” to provide guidance on resuspension, release, residuals and their associated risk for dredging projects. I am widely recognized for my expertise in contaminant geochemistry in aquatic systems, determining sediment cleanup values, and negotiating with state and federal agencies regarding sediment projects.
