About Rick Harris

Rick Harris, president of ICI has been in the office furniture industry for the past 34 years. During that time, he has worked in all facets of the industry including manufacturing, remanufacturing, field services, installations, product design, project management, and sales. During his long career in the office interiors industry, Rick has witnessed firsthand the evolution of the design elements and utilization of office space. He has built strong relationships with furniture manufacturers from coast to coast, providing access to a wide range of products to meet all customer needs. After more than 30 years of doing business in other furniture markets, Rick started ICI in 2012 in Minnesota, focusing on public sector projects and projects for major corporations seeking to increase their minority participation. ICI is presently doing work with Hennepin County, the University of Minnesota, The City of St. Paul and performing as a subcontractor for major contracting companies in the Twin Cities. In addition to growing ICI, Rick has served as Vice-President of the National Association of Minority Contractors (NAMC) – Upper Midwest from 2013-2015, is an active participant of the Metropolitan Economic Development Association’s (MEDA) Construction Partnering Program (CPP). In 2015, Rick and ICI were recognized as the minority vendor of the year by the University of Minnesota, NAMC, and NCMSDC. Rick is a positive advocate for minority business and is called upon frequently to collaborate with key State and County leaders with the goal to strengthen minority business participation, enumerate the barriers to the growth of under represented businesses in the State of Minnesota and to advance solutions that promote healthy dialog and strategies that will result in stronger economic outcomes.
