About Rick R.

My name is Rick, and I have had a strong passion for filmmaking and storytelling as far back as I can remember. I began my journey as a writer; I wanted to write sweeping tales of historical fiction, fantasy, horror and adventure. However, in high school, things took a different turn. As a revered member of my school’s television program, I devoted all of my extracurricular time editing together news packages, which is when my interest in post-production peaked. I learned the basics and workflow while interning at the community television station, and I graduated Columbia College Chicago with a Bachelor’s Degree in the Arts in May 2012. In June, I became a freelancer. My career morphed from a strict marketing-oriented channel to undertaking any and all forms of narrative work. While I wish to stay in advertisement, I believe exposing myself to a vast array of work has helped me develop the skills to transform myself into a powerful storyteller. Everything is a story. I have fostered strong relationships with my clients that have evolved beyond the edit room, and I am always looking for new opportunities.
