Background
About Rick Sanborn
I've been involved in the ever-challenging EDA industry for the last 20 years supporting the development and proliferation of Cadence's AMS Verification solutions and loving every minute of it! I was there at the first production release of our industry leading AMS Designer solution and have continued to drive that solution forward meeting customer's ever-evolving needs for mixed-signal functional verification. Driving the tools to maturity to address the complexities of AMS verification has been and still continues to be very rewarding. There's nothing like hearing customers say what a tremendous help our solutions have been in getting their designs to market faster and with better quality. First silicon success has a nice ring to it. From amazing international travel experiences working closely as a team member with exceptional customers, to collaborating with cross-functional development teams internally here at Cadence, have been career highlights. If it calls for some intense problem solving, count me in! Prior to Cadence, I spent some consulting time developing embedded C software for the wireless and digitally-controlled consumer model train industry. The latest technology simply gives an entire new experience to model trains. I also spent time developing EDA point tools using Visual C++ for the ATE Virtual Test product market. Prior to that, writing industry popular digital chip model IPs in C for sale to OEMs for simulation chip set development. In the mid-90's, I was challenged developing mixed-signal behavioral models of AMS/mixed-signal ATE systems used for AMS Virtual Test methodologies for the DANTEs solution. While finishing up my Bachelor's degree in the evenings, I enjoyed my experience designing implantable cardiac pacemaker devices as a mixed-signal hardware designer collaborating with an amazing array of talented R&D teams. Specialties: Analog and Mixed-Signal Simulation, Behavioral Modeling and design, software development, SV UVM, MDV, UPF Low Power Fluent in industry standard behavioral languages: VerilogAMS, VHDL-AMS, Verilog, VHDL, SystemVerilog Others: C/C++ embedded programming
