About Rick Self

It’s often lonely at the top, with few people to provide seasoned, agenda-free insight and counsel. I work with individuals as an Executive Coach, and with a group of CEOs who serve as a Private Advisory Board for one another. I collaborate with a select group of local CEOs and business owners by chairing a private peer advisory board. We convene a carefully selected group of local leaders who own and run businesses monthly to help each other achieve better business results and financial independence by becoming better leaders and better decision-makers. Our Board is characterized by talent-focused, growing companies (see for details). To chair the group, I draw on a 40-year career that includes experience as the Chief Executive of three high performance organizations - a $200M company, a $30M national technology consortium and a nuclear attack submarine. I also draw on the 50+ years of Vistage Worldwide in supporting CEO peer groups. Member companies, on average, double their growth rate after joining a Vistage Board like ours. The Private Advisory Board gathers business owners who are serious about professional and personal growth. The group dynamic helps members step back from the day-to-day to think differently, gain insight, make better decisions, take bold action, and drive meaningful results. Membership is by invitation only. Selection is based on resonant values, experience/expertise and ability to contribute to and balance out our group, ROI for the candidate, and commitment to put insights into action.
