About Rick Setter

Having over 45 years experience in automotive and commercial vehicle construction and collision repair which including 20 years in automotive insurance and 5 years managing and estimating collision repair has given me several unique and invaluable perspectives and opportunities to grow my knowledge as it relates to customer service, vehicle repairs and automotive insurance. I formed Crash Space Appraisals Ltd. in 2016. I am proud to say that after four years in operation we have strived to continuously improve and find cost effective solutions for our clients. Whether it be in the insurance sector, salvage marketing and disposal, training solutions for insurance staff or industry, partnering with the legal profession as subject matter experts or completing all aspects of Accreditation audits for the CCIAP & CCR Programs in BC. Our goal, which has not changed from the day I started the company is simple: We will provide you with the quickest, most accurate services available and have the ability to tailor our services to meet your specific needs. My credentials include chairing the ICBC Collision Repair Liaison Committee, representing ICBC and BC collision repair facilities as a sitting member of the North American Audatex Technical Advisory Council. In addition I am a certified I-CAR instructor and have granted expert witness status in the BC Court relating to insurance claims and repairs. After a 20 year career with ICBC where I held several Management positions including Manager Accreditation, Kingsway Material Damage and leading the Material Damage Services Dept. on several rewarding projects including implementation of HST in BC for claims and the repair industry, developing and implementing insurance product NVR+, implementing changes and system upgrades in support of CRIA a collision repair - insurance agreement to note a few accomplishments. Having achieved several high level goals I retired from Public Insurance and to focus my energies on utilizing my skillset as a consultant in the collision repair/insurance industry. I bring an excellent balance of knowledge, efficiency, and customer service that will be of benefit to all aspects of automotive insurance and collision repair as it relates to claims handling.
