About Rick Strong

Rick is an experienced marine operations specialist with over 25 years servicing maritime, marine post-secondary education and offshore oil and Gas industries. Rick’s career has taken him from a rural fishing community in NL, to various local, national and international capacities, providing operational, technical and project management expertise for key operations related to operational efficiency, safety, emergency response, ice threat risk reduction and emissions reductions. Rick’s success in project management is directly related to his experience operating offshore supply vessels, managing offshore supply vessel operations, providing technical advice for offshore oil and gas operations, project management of key R&D projects, site acceptance of a marine navigation training simulator and training mariners in a full mission simulation environment. Rick is a result-oriented individual that believes in the value of teamwork and subject matter expertise. He is a diplomatic negotiator, prepared to try all available approaches to persuade stakeholders to give their input using reflection and consultation in reaching conclusions. Rick is certified with a Master Mariner Certificate of Competency and educated with a Bachelor of Vocational Education Degree, Technical and Vocational Instructors Teaching Certificate, Incident Command System Certificates and Technical Diploma in Nautical Science (Merchant Marine).
