About Rick Thoonen

With an early career in the detail driven and time sensitive publishing industry, I understand the need for process & systems development to cope with projects that require thousands of tasks for successful completion. Having been at the forefront of the development of high-volume database publishing systems an ability to balance the need for comprehensive completion within time constraints while coaching a team to achieve beyond what they believed they are capable of, has been critical to team success. Since moving to the property/facility management industry in 2009 I have gained experience or qualifications in property management, strata management (CPSM) and building/facility management. With roles from hands on building management, to the overview required for strata project management requiring project planning, budgeting and the communication skills to obtain approvals from disparate owners. Developments have ranged from 3 lots to an entire suburb of over 700 lots and have included heritage, residential, commercial and retail. These roles have allowed me to accumulate experience with many building systems (old and new). I understand the need to ensure that programmed maintenance is kept up to date so that when the unexpected arises, it can be dealt with effectively. I am a problem solver at heart and always go the extra mile to ensure that tasks are completed properly.
