About Rick Whiting

Hi, my name is Rick, and I’m the founder of Infinite Ascent. A favorite quote of mine comes from the 2002 movie “Tuck Everlasting,” a film about a family that discovered the Fountain of Youth long ago. When a family friend named Winnie was on the verge of experiencing it as well, the father of the family, Tuck, shared some wisdom with her: “Don’t be afraid of death, Winnie. Be afraid of the unlived life.” An unlived life encapsulates what many refer to as a 'midlife crisis' or a “midlife reckoning.” it's a time when many men reflect on unfulfilled dreams and regrets from the past, a disappointment with their current significance, and a fear of ultimately falling short of what could have been. As the realization of mortality looms, they become compelled to find meaning, redefine their purpose and priorities, enrich relationships, make lasting contributions, and ensure they will be remembered as individuals of substance and integrity. Over 25 years ago, I experienced my midlife struggle in the form of an all-consuming opioid addiction. After a decade-long battle filled with hopelessness, I made a change, aided by a loving God, where I not only regained my life, but I re-emerged as a new and improved person, ignited by a passion to guide others from the depths of their pain to a place of transformation, fearlessness, and freedom. Years of management and training experience complement my fun and inspirational style, and I was fortunate to work alongside American icon Dave Ramsey for 13 years. There I helped clients with personal finance, marriage, mental health, career, and business challenges while becoming an ICF-certified empowerment and mindset coach. Since discovering my purpose and mission, I've had the privilege of witnessing and facilitating countless breakthroughs and life changes. I’ve learned that the obstacles obstructing a motivated midlife man from achieving his dreams are self-imposed limitations, not outside conditions or lack of opportunity. The good news is that these limitations can be eliminated and replaced with a sense of empowerment. Imagine confidently stepping into a new and limitless existence, free from fears, doubts, guilt, shame, resentment, regret, limiting beliefs, unfavorable perspectives, or irrational rules. Your inner critic has become a companion, and your self-esteem flourishing. You have clarity and emotional intelligence, your passion is ablaze, your faith is strong, and you finally have the kind of peace and fulfillment that many strive for, but few ever achieve.
