About Ricky Dann

Ricky is the founder of Flow Nutrition, an Australian company dedicated to developing scientifically-backed nutrition bars that empower athletes and adventurers to fuel their flow state. Flow Nutrition delivers high-quality, evidence-based products designed specifically to meet the demands of action and adventure sports, providing the fuel needed to push limits and achieve peak performance. Additionally, Ricky is also a full-time PhD candidate in Exercise Science at Griffith University, researching skill acquisition in competitive surfing through an Ecological Dynamics Approach. He has published multiple peer-reviewed papers in surfing and snowboarding and aims to expand the scientific understanding of all action sports. As a Strength & Conditioning Coach, Ricky has worked with elite athletes across winter sports, surfing, cricket, football, and rowing, including roles at Cricket Australia, Finland Ski & Snowboard High-Performance Academy, Brisbane Broncos, and UQ Sport Academy, applying evidence-based training in high-performance settings. In academia, he has served as a tutor, demonstrator and practical coordinator at Griffith University and the University of Queensland, teaching exercise physiology, sports coaching, exercise prescription and sports psychology, earning consistently exceptional SETutor evaluations (4.9/5).
