As an engineer with a rich tapestry of experience spanning over 14 years across various sectors including industry and academia, I’ve had the privilege of working on some truly transformative projects. My journey has taken me from designing intricate electrical systems for major infrastructure like the Defence Headquarters Complex to diving deep into the complexities of energy markets as an analyst for Virtual Power Plants at AGL. Each role has added a new layer to my understanding of how we can harness technology for a sustainable future. My recent focus has been on developing pricing strategies for VPP products, where I ensure our offerings not only stand out in a competitive market but also align with what our customers truly need. It’s rewarding to see how these strategies can optimize resource allocation and enhance overall performance. Prior to this role, my doctoral research at the University of South Australia allowed me to explore innovative methods for predicting electricity demand—an area that is becoming increasingly crucial as we integrate more renewable sources into our grid. Throughout my career, I’ve led teams through complex projects from initial design concepts all the way to successful delivery. For instance, while managing large-scale electrical engineering projects at Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau, I prepared comprehensive bidding documents that secured multi-million dollar contracts. These experiences have taught me the importance of collaboration and clear communication among diverse stakeholders—skills I cherish deeply. Outside of work, I’m passionate about sharing knowledge and mentoring aspiring engineers.
