About Riena Long
I have worked in public service with AmeriCorps, familiarizing myself and working with underrepresented communities within my own community. I wanted to learn were the gaps were in resources and determine how I could best be in service to others by connecting them to most needed resources. Previously I have done that via trying to assist in getting people experiencing low-income and/or homelessness into housing and now I try connect food insecure folks to fresh and nutritional food on a weekly basis. I work in a very hands on way connecting helping to connect people to badly needed resources, I would like to continue in the direction of doing more advocacy work and fight structural barriers on a policy level.
