About Riishaar Baker

As a Program Manager at King County, I oversee the implementation of economic development programs that provide employment support, vocational needs, and referrals to post-secondary educational institutions and training programs for adults who are veterans, formerly homeless, or have criminal court system involvement. I have more than 15 years of experience in project management, social services, and non-profit leadership, with a focus on equity, social justice, healing-centered support and trauma-informed care. I lead a team of Employment Navigators who deliver culturally empathetic engagement and life-affirming resources to our clients, as well as perform contract monitoring and invoicing for multiple strategies within the Adult Services Division of King County DCHS. I also consult on anti-racism, diversity, inclusion, and social justice policies and outcomes for emerging and existing non-profits. I am passionate about changing the societal landscape that perpetuates inequity and empowering individuals and communities to achieve their full potential.
