About Rijil Thomas

I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at AMO GmbH specializing in integrated photonics, with a strong technical foundation in photonics and nanophotonics. I hold a Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. My background combines research in plasmonics and nanophotonics with industrial experience in silicon photonics process integration. I work extensively with numerical modeling and simulation (Ansys Lumerical), photonic circuit layout, and programming (Python, MATLAB), alongside experience in electronics and signal processing. I also maintain an active interest in quantum technologies.I contribute to multidisciplinary projects that connect device-level innovation with fabrication constraints and system-level requirements. In parallel, I support academic development through mentoring and supervision of undergraduate, graduate, and Ph.D. researchers. My work is driven by advancing photonic technologies from fundamental device concepts to scalable, integrated solutions for next-generation optical systems.
