About Riley Ferguson

My name is Riley Ferguson and I am a football student-athlete at the University of Memphis. I am pursuing my degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. Interdisciplinary Studies afforded me the opportunity to merge two degrees, Sports Management and Business, in one. I am passionate about furthering my career in coaching, and as well in strength and conditioning. I am a hard working young man who has had some bumps in the road throughout my life, but I have learned many lessons from the things I have done wrong. Through all the hardships it has helped shaped me into the man that I am today and it has taught me man life skills that I will keep with me from this point on. I am a man who likes to make others around me better. I try to walk around with a smile on my face at all times even when I may not be feeling good myself. I am currently trying to get more involved in community service. I believe giving back to the community is one of the best ways to not only give back, but it also helps show what kind of person you truly are. There are many things that motivate me in life. One thing that motivates me is all the doubters I have. I have many people who believe I cannot succeed whether it is in football or in life. I attended the University of Tennessee for and year and I ended up leaving. When I left I had many people say I was not going to do anything with my life, but I used that as fuel to help motivate myself and not only prove them wrong, but also show myself that I can do it because I know I am smart enough and strong enough to accomplish whatever I set my mind to.
