About Riley Hurlock

Electrician & Off-Grid Design Specialist | Renewable Energy Advocate As an Electrician and Off-Grid Design Specialist at Commodore Australia’s Queensland Office, I bring a hands-on approach to creating innovative remote power solutions. Since joining Commodore two years ago, I have established our Queensland office, contributing to the company’s growing reputation as a leader in off-grid solar systems. Living off-grid myself, I combine personal experience with professional expertise to address the unique challenges of sustainable energy. My journey with Commodore began when I purchased and installed one of their systems in 2022. Experiencing the quality of their solutions firsthand inspired me to help others achieve energy independence. My qualifications in electrical systems, solar installations, and off-grid design, paired with over 14 years of experience as an electrical contractor and solar installer, enable me to deliver personalised and effective energy solutions for clients. Certifications & Expertise: – A Grade Electrical License – Electrical Contractor Certification – Solar Installer Certification – Cert II in Air Conditioning – Security Camera Installer License Before joining Commodore, I worked as an electrical contractor, solar installer, and even served as crew on the Southern Cloud superyacht. These roles shaped my technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a mindset focused on innovation and success Beyond my professional work, I am deeply passionate about reducing consumption culture and promoting sustainable living. When not designing systems or troubleshooting electrical faults, I enjoy surfing, camping, and traveling - activities that align with my adventurous spirit and commitment to the environment Looking ahead, I plan to further my expertise in renewable energy by expanding my certifications and being at the forefront of any new technologies as they enter the market.
