About Riley Kerr

Hi, my name is Riley. I am currently in my final undergraduate year at Fordham University, completing a double major in American Studies with a concentration in Cultural Products, and Comparative Literature with a concentration in Classical Languages. I am also employed as a Computer Assistant in Fordham's Tech Acquisitions and Asset Management department under IT. This past summer, I was awarded Fordham's Undergraduate Summer Research Grant to study sociological methodology and community organizing as they relate to housing justice, homelessness, and tenants' rights. Earlier this year, I joined Fordham's Analytics Department as an Investigative Journalist Analyst Intern (Feb-July), where I taught myself Microsoft's Power BI and Power Platforms using their resources. I am also a (co-)News Editor for Fordham's free speech journal, the paper. I have been in this position since August 2023 and love our collaborative and experimental production process. As an editor, I work with InDesign and WordPress, and copy-edit writers' articles on current events and politics. I possess strong research and spreadsheet skills, along with intermediate data analysis and visualization abilities. I highly value creativity, adaptability, and precision in all aspects of both work and life, and am extremely passionate about reading and writing.
