About Riley Pham

Dr. Riley Pham is a passionate educator, researcher, and entrepreneur with extensive international experience across hospitality, education, sustainable development, and investment sectors. Currently a lecturer at Sunway University, Malaysia, he brings a global perspective to his teaching, underpinned by years of cross-functional industry and academic leadership. With a PhD from UEH University, Vietnam, Dr. Riley’s research explores the intersections of sustainable hospitality and tourism, talent management, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance). He holds multiple degrees in Management, Business Administration, TESOL, and Hospitality, reflecting his commitment to interdisciplinary knowledge and lifelong learning. Dr. Riley’s professional journey includes lecturing roles at prestigious institutions such as UEH University, International University - Vietnam National University HCMC, and Ba Ria Vung Tau University, where he has taught subjects in hotel operations, tourism, and international catering management. As an entrepreneur, Dr. Riley is the founder of several ventures, including- Le Café & Gâteaux d'Annam, a contemporary Vietnamese cuisine and beverage concept in Vung Tau- Regency International, a sustainable development firm based in Ho Chi Minh City- Regions, a global perfume brand inspired by cultural narratives. He is also a representative of SPACE ASEAN LLC, a U.S-based ESG consultancy firm, and has held various executive roles, including- General Manager of a multi-purpose health sciences company (PTS Health Science)- General Manager of a 3-star hotel in Vung Tau- Chief Marketing Officer for a tourism company in Vietnam- Vice General Manager and Assistant to the Chairman for Fivestar International Group. Beyond the boardroom and lecture hall, Dr. Riley is a skilled pianist, designer, and painter, demonstrating a rich creative side that complements his academic and business achievements. His dynamic career path also includes hands-on experience as a consultant, hotelier, barista, bartender, chef, and researcher—a testament to his versatility and dedication to the service industry.
