About Ripon Bhattacharjee

Dr. Ripon Bhattacharjee is a dedicated legal academician known for his strong educational foundation, dynamic teaching approach, and multifaceted contributions to legal education and research. He completed his legal studies at the University of North Bengal, Darjeeling, and holds a Doctorate in Law with a specialization in Environmental Law. His academic journey commenced with a Master’s degree in Law and has since included impactful teaching tenures at several esteemed institutions such as Government Law College, Tripura; Alliance University, Bangalore; Indian Institute of Legal Studies, Siliguri; AURO University, Gujarat; Adamas University; and the University of Engineering and Management, Kolkata. In addition to his teaching excellence, Dr. Bhattacharjee has held important administrative positions, including heading departments and actively contributing to academic governance. He has been part of a significant government-commissioned project funded by the Tripura Institution of Transformation (TIFT), Department of Good Governance, titled “Comprehensive Review of Acts/Rules Administered by the State of Tripura to Simplify, Decriminalize and Remove Redundant Laws and to Eliminate the Risk of Imprisonment for Minor Violations.” His involvement in this initiative reflects his commitment to policy-level legal reforms and governance innovation. Internationally, Dr. Bhattacharjee contributed as an author to the prestigious Erasmus+ project “Tuning India,” an initiative focusing on pedagogical innovation and curriculum development in legal education. His scholarly contribution has also been published by University of Deusto, Spain, as part of an international volume emerging from the project. He has organized National Moot Court Competitions, Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), and Academic Seminars, and continues to guide students and young scholars with enthusiasm. A prolific writer, Dr. Bhattacharjee has published books, research papers, and policy reports in respected national and international journals, and has presented his research at conferences across India and abroad.
