About Rishabh Soni

A research scholar in one of the prestigious institutes of India the Indian Institute of Science Bangalore working under Prof Kaushik Chatterjee at the department of Materials Engineering in the domain of Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering and related research. I have been involved in investigating and analysing the advantages and potential applications of Additive Manufacturing in the domain of Biomedical Research. I am also looking forward to exploring the patient-specific applicable 3D printed Bio-implants and their feasibility. For the past few years I have looked upon the potential use of Zn and its alloys as a degradable metallic implants. Zn alloys offers suitable biodegradation rates in the physiological conditions without any toxic effects to the cellular day to day activities of our human body. These alloys can be seen as probable alternatives to the traditional SS alloys Ti-alloys and Co-Cr alloys. I have been involved in many managing events since my undergraduate years at IIT Kharagpur. My experience includes representing the Department UG students community to the UG Students' Council headed by Dean UG-Students for the department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering; representing the Squash Sports team to the General Championship of IIT Kharagpur; managing and conducting COMPOSIT-the Metallurgical and Materials Engineering fest of IIT Kharagpur etc. Currently I hold the position of Tennis Cricket Convenor at Gymkhana IISc which includes representing the community of nearly 350 cricket players in the Gymkhana meetings headed by Deputy Registrar IISc. My role as a convener involves conducting various tournaments for the students community the administrative and non-administrative staff members of IISc. As a sports enthusiast I put my hands on various games and sports pushing myself towards a more vibrant individual. I actively participate in Cricket Running Cycling among others. I try to keep myself fit mentally physically and psychologically to be all there wherever I am. Thank you for taking out some time to read this Bio Section.
