About Rita Callahan
I have worked academically in higher education as a registered nurse educator for 38 years, primarily in San Diego, CA but as well as in Houston, TX. teaching in the classroom/lecturer, clinically, skills laboratory instructor, and simulation. My nursing career spans medical-surgical, gerontology, oncology, and skills lab. I have since retired from remote teaching. Graduated from San Diego State University with my BSN degree. Obtained my MA degree from University of Phoenix, and my PhD from the University of San Diego. I had the opportunity to travel abroad to the West Indies in Grenada and teach for about seven months under the direction of Dean of Nursing, Dr. Bonaparte. I have also, had the pleasure of traveling to Ghana, Africa twice with Dr. Senyo Adjibolosoo working with his Academy students. I plan to continue working with the Academy. I have taught online as a mentor for an RN-BSN program since 2012 and enjoy it immensely. It is a pleasure guiding and sharing nursing knowledge with students. Additionally, I tutor nursing students.
