About Rita Silva

I am a passionate leader who believes that thinking positively, listening to people, focusing on their needs, and having fun are the keys to creating an amazing team and enjoying the journey/career path (and my journey has been incredibly fruitful). A Canadian by birth, Portuguese by family heritage and education, and with a touch of Irish in my heart, I embody a blend of diverse experiences and knowledge. I am always eager to learn from my peers and embrace every moment of my day. Throughout my technical career, I have worked in the pension and actuarial world, serving the Portuguese, German, Canadian, US, and currently the Irish market. This has allowed me to understand different cultures, be flexible, agile, and learn from amazing colleagues around the world. Currently, I'm managing a team of more than 40 colleagues working for Irish marked. And acting also as client manager for retirement and risk management subjects in the Irish market, with a strong project management mindset. As a math-oriented person, I love solving problems and thinking outside of the box. Becoming a mother has taught me that some battles we will never win, and it has significantly increased my level of patience and imagination, making me an even better leader. I have been a feminist since a young age, and nowadays, I focus on diversification and inclusion in the world in general. I love to help people and fight for a better World.
