Ram worked for 20 years in Armoured Corps, Indian Army. Attended seven training courses in Army including prestigious Defence Services Staff Course and performed well. Before leaving Army in July 2007, attended PG Certification Course in General Management in XLRI, Jamshedpur. My last assignment was in 2.5 MTPA Dangote Cement Plant in Ethiopia as Senior GM, HAM & Administration with an employee strength of over I worked there for 23 months up to 12 July 2018 and was the only expat in any plant of Dangote in this position. Having left Army on 31st July 2007, I had joined Rolta Thales Ltd in Mumbai as Associate VP, Technical Marketing & BD. During my stint with Rolta, I had the opportunity of presenting data fusion solution to you in NATGRID HQ at Delhi. I worked with Rolta till 30 Mar 2012 as I got an offer from Matekane Group of Companies (MGC) headquartered in Lagos for setting up a coal mining company in Tete province of Mozambique for mining coal for JSPL Mozambique. All HEMM for this was procured in India and shipped to Maputo, then moved to the site 1700 Kms. During this time, we also selected 40 expats and 300 operators. All this and other required support infrastructure was set up and the company had started mining activity from July 2012. I worked with them till Dec 2014 including making procurement from Delhi office and made procurement from almost 10 countries and shipped 42 containers of spares and other items to Maputo. I took a sabbatical for 2.5 months for our younger daughter’s wedding and joined another company working on an USAID funded project in Afghanistan on 13 Mar 2015 as Head, Security & Administration. Once the project was coming to an end, I got opportunity to work in Dangote Cement (Ethiopia) and joined them on 15th Aug 2016. Besides managing HR & Admin, Security was a major responsibility in the plant with 260 security staff including 150 from a Security Agency.
