As a Christ-follower, my daily desire is to be the best possible reflection of Him while engaging with and helping people. I've been blessed in life to do that in a variety of ways; sometimes for pay, often simply for personal satisfaction, and always desiring to honor God's call on my life. Today, I serve in the role of Partner Care at Camp Bethel Ministries (in Wise, VA), while assisting Silverthorn Industries in developing strategic business alliances. In my personal life, Connie (my wife of 39 years) and I have served as elders, lay leaders and marriage mentors in our home church. SO WHAT'S WITH THE HEADSET? For the past 26 years I've been a play-by-play broadcaster of NASCAR races nationwide on over 400 radio stations (and Sirius-XM satellite radio) on the Performance Racing Network. I get paid for describing cars going in circles REALLY fast! Here's an overview of my (somewhat convoluted, but never boring) business background: After college I earned my Series 7 investment securities license, life & health insurance licenses, and my CFP (Certified Financial Planner) designation, then spent the next 18 years serving clients'​ financial, estate, investment & insurance planning needs. In 1994, I joined an estate planning client's company as National Marketing Director, helping entrepreneurs establish their own home-based sporting goods & sports apparel businesses. Relocating from Naples, Florida to Charlotte, NC in 1996 I formed a management company for and with NASCAR driver Johnny Benson to focus on licensing, endorsements and personal services contracts. When Benson's tenure in NASCAR's top series ended in 2003, I joined Motorsports Authentics as Vice President of Strategic Alliances, specializing in team and driver relationships and contracts. In 2006, I helped launch a business created to deliver technologies, services and strategies to help corporations cut operational costs and drive new non-traditional sources of revenue. In that process, since 2014 I've worked with the CEO of Silverthorn Industries in an effort to help commercialize his patented and proprietary diesel, gasoline, and hydrogen-on-demand fuel technologies.
