I am a serving Police Officer with the City of London Police as a Commercial Vehicle Investigator in the Roads Policing, Commercial Vehicle Unit. I have been a Police Officer since 2001 and a Roads Policing Officer since 2005. I started my career with Essex Police transferring to The City in December 2018. I am a Member of the Chartered Institute for Logistics and Transport (CILT). I am a Member of the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) and an IMI accredited Certified Automotive Engineer (CAE). I hold a Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport (CILT) Transport Management CPC (Haulage) qualification and an SEG Transport Manager CPC for Passenger transport. I am a Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA). I hold ADR for all classes tanks and packages (1-9) I have Class 1 and PCV driving licences (C, CE, D & DE). I hold a full, current Driver CPC. I am a Police advanced driver, tactical pursuit and containment (TPAC) trained and a Police response motorcyclist. I hold qualifications in Drivers Hours legislation and Digital Tachograph analysis. I am qualified in forensic tachograph calibration and route tracing. I am City and Guilds qualified in vehicle examination and DVSA trained in roadside goods vehicle examination. I am ALLMI qualified in the use of lorry loader cranes. I have been a commercial vehicle investigator since 2019 and specialise in roadside commercial vcehicle compliance. I am authorised to prohibit motor vehicles for mechanical defects, weight, driver hours and CDG offences. As a qualified Transport Manager and DGSA I mix roadside driver compliance with Operator compliance and education. Helping to deliver training and instruction to Drivers and Operators alike. Having a Class 1 licence, Driver CPC and ADR gives me excellent knowledge of what is expected of commercial vehicle Drivers. I work closely with multiple agencies including DVSA, TFL, Highways England, The Office of the Traffic Commissioner, The Health and Safety Executive and Environment Agency. I work with HS2 conducting “gate checks” for vehicles on and off site and helping with community road safety. I assist colleagues from the Metropolitan Police with Bikesafe London. I have many years experience in policing, specifically in Roads Policing, Crash investigation, driver compliance and enforcement.
