Rob is a Senior Associate in the Energy Commercial and Regulation team in London. He advises utilities, governments, sponsors, borrowers and financial institutions on all aspects of the energy sector, including renewable and thermal power development, electricity and gas regulation, electricity transmission and distribution, energy trading and supply, and general commercial advice across the energy spectrum covering wind, solar, district heating, CHP, smart meters, smart grids, networks for electricity, gas, AD and biogas to grid. He has both private practice experience and in-house experience having done a 10-month secondment to an electricity supplier – Smartest Energy, and a 12-month secondment to the Commodities Legal Team at EDF Trading. Rob has particular expertise in the UK electricity market and its regulatory framework, and commodity trading. He advises on energy sector commercial contracts, including Energy Trading Services Agreements (ETSAs), power purchase agreements (PPAs), Renewables Obligation Certificate (ROC) and Renewable Energy Guarantees Origin (REGO) Trading Master Agreements, ISDAs, EFETs (Gas & Power), Netting Agreements and Gas Trading & Shipping Services Agreements. Rob drafted the industry standard REGO Trading Master Agreement template and has advised the Association of Decentralised Energy (ADE) on the establishment of a demand side response (DSR) Code of Conduct ahead of the launch of a voluntary Code Compliance Scheme for DSR aggregators called "Flex Assure", and sits on the Oversight Committee of the Scheme. Rob is very familiar with the Contract for Difference (CFD), Capacity Market, Feed-in Tariff (FiT), Smart Export Gurarantee (SEG), Renewables Obligation (RO) and Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) schemes. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Rob worked for the commodities energy (Oil, Gas, Power & Coal) risk desk at a leading investment bank. Rob is fluent in English and Polish.
