About Rob Burley

I am a highly successful senior leader with 15 years of experience working in the charity sector, specialising in public affairs, policy and campaigning. I am skilled in creating and implementing successful integrated and evidence based campaigns and influencing strategies and in forming and maintaining partnerships with key stakeholders, including senior politicians and decision makers. I have delivered meaningful change for the people I work on behalf of, including ensuring on-going access to NHS hearing aids in the face of planned acute cuts, changing legislation to improve access to broadcasting for people with hearing loss, improving the support received by armed forces personnel with noise induced hearing loss through the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme and increasing the age range of the NHS Breast Screening Programme. I am an established and well regarded media spokesperson and have appeared on BBC Breakfast and the Victoria Derbyshire show, BBC Radio 4's You and Yours programme and a host of other live radio interviews and in print media. I lead meetings with senior figures and am an excellent public speaker, with international conference experience. I have excellent leadership skills, developed through membership of the Senior Leadership Teams at the UK's largest deafness and hearing loss charity and largest dementia charity. I took part in the inaugural year of Charityworks, which is now the non-profit sector's graduate scheme, an organisation that I am now a Trustee of. I am further developing my leadership this year by undertaking a Clore Social Leadership Fellowship. I am passionate about working collegiately, promoting equality, developing the people and teams I lead, giving the people I represent a genuine voice and ensuring that my campaigning and influencing activity delivers tangible impact and results.
