About Rob Carter

In April 2022 I joined Arup as a Senior Project Manager (Rail). Previously, I was employed by Network Rail. I was involved in project delivery, sponsorship and development for Network Rail for 15 years, covering major renewals and enhancements. Key achievements include project managing the build of the Basingstoke Route Operations Centre and major E&P renewals on the Wessex route. I managed a portfolio of around 30- 40 projects.I was also involved in the development/delivery of future rail strategy, sponsoring projects working with DfT, TfL, local authorities, freight and train operating companies. This involved liaising with these stakeholders to understand initial requirements, agreeing client remits, and progressing through Network Rail's GRIP lifecycle, latterly working with PACE. I was also a member of the BMUP Programme Board.I have spoken at several public information/consultation events for proposed rail projects and programmes.I am an experienced Sponsor, Programme & Project Management professional, and pride myself on thinking outside of the box and problem solving. I have multi-disciplinary experience of developing and delivering projects on time and within budget.
