Throughout my career, including both in-house and outside counsel roles, I have been dedicated to protecting the intellectual property of my clients’ innovations, content, and technology, while also helping my clients respect the intellectual property of our customers, partners, competitors, vendors, and other third parties. My responsibilities have encompassed developing and protecting intellectual property assets, negotiating licenses that facilitate effective collaboration or coexistence with respect to third parties’ IP rights, and providing guidance on IP opportunities and risks to product, engineering, marketing, and legal partners at all levels, from executive leadership to contributors on the ground. At heart, though, I’m just a simple Southern lawyer who brings a diverse combination of proficiency, professional experience, and pragmatism to IP licensing, AI-based content creation, predictive analytics, risk assessment, U.S. and European patent portfolio development, copyright protection, patent eligibility risks, trademark strategy, open-source software licensing, due diligence, IP indemnities, and movie trivia.
