Senior Application Systems Analyst, Michigan Medicine Duties: Implementing new and maintaining current Pharmacy Systems, Pharmacy System Automation, and other systems related to getting medication purchased for the Health System and distributed to our patients. Ensuring integrity of interfaces between systems, implementing new interfaces and data exchanges between Pharmacy and non-Pharmacy Systems.(SQL and SQL Server trained.) Working with interface and network professionals in the Health System and in vendor IT Departments. Participating as a technical point person on implementation teams when installing/replacing or upgrading Pharmacy Automation Systems and Pharmacy Information Systems. Supporting all of the above mentioned systems, resolving technical issues with users and other IT staff, and working with vendors to resolve persistent issues. Ensuring data integrity and monitoring and/or building data exports (or reports) out of the Pharmacy System and into other systems.(Data ETL processes. mostly file ETL work.) As well as managing interface data connections to other systems. Skills: Trained in Microsoft SQL Server Administration (and use this skill almost daily) Trained in SQL - Experience with SSMS, WinSQL, etc. coding. Trained in Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) Administration (familiarity with) Trained in Microsoft Windows Administration (again, use this skill almost daily) Trained in Informix Online Database Server Basic Administration (familiarity with, and some experience) Trained in Novell Network, Netware 4.11 Basic Administration (no longer used at my current employer) Trained in AIX Unix Basic Administration (familiarity with, and some experience) Trained in Microsoft Office (extensive experience with Office Suite) Trained in Software Engineering (Computer Science Education) Trained in Computer Operating system design (Computer Science Education) Trained in C+, Pascal, Lisp, Fortran, Basic, Assembly lang, & more (Computer Science Education) Self-Trained in BASIC (wrote a polar-coordinate based multi-player WWII aerial combat program for teletype terminals with a friend in 1976-77. just for fun. well before online gaming even existed.) My goal is to continually improve our automation (and other) systems using progressive working relationships with our Pharmacy and Automation Systems vendors in order to help the Pharmacy Department deliver safer, more efficient, cost effective, and accurate care to the patients of our Health System.
