About Rob Harris

Rob Harris, Former Chairman, Founder and Global Strategist of Pacific Market International (PMI) is an early pioneer of China and Southeast Asia based contract manufacturing. He started PMI in 1983 with a vision to help American importers find reliable factories in Southeast Asia. His experiences are legendary and have been the subject of numerous articles and talks on subjects ranging from Starting and Growing a Business for Long term Shareholder Value; Principals over Profit; Making Sustainable Business Practices a Priority; China as the World Economic Growth Engine; Ethical Investing in China, and many others. He has opened offices and established operating entities in over eight countries and has distribution experience in over 35 countries. He has served on the boards of numerous privately held for-profit companies and a number of community based not for profit organizations. As of now he serves on the boards of: PMI Leaders Up, Los Angeles Scan Design Foundation, Seattle WA Seattle University, Entrepreneurship Center, Seattle, WA Global Advisory Board at University of Redlands, Redlands CA He has 14 years experience mentoring MBA students at Seattle University and holds a Masters Degree in Counseling from Syracuse University. His professional education and early career days as a psycho-therapist at a short term crisis psychiatric hospital have provided him with the sensitivity toward people that has led him to create one of the most dynamic, highly collaborative team oriented middle market consumer brand marketing firms on the west coast.
