About Rob Julien

Working in the Production Department for Midway Games in Austin, Texas I have put to good use my education in Computer Graphics, Accounting, and Education to help keep the game development team informed and running smoothly. TECHNICAL I am the go to person as a technical resource for Excel, Word, Project, Twiki, and other software programs being used in the studio for daily work. DATABASE Became proficient in the defect tracking systems being used in the studio (Test Track Pro, DevTrack) and helped with planning, setup, and administration of the database. In charge of training users as well as being the support contact for them. Using Excel I created spreadsheets for generating import files (to move data from MS Project into the database) as well as generating export files and using Excel to create tracking graphs and burndown charts. ACCOUNTING Using my financial background created spreadsheets for tracking outsourcing costs as projected and as spent. MISC No job too small to tackle - I even took the time to investigate local restaurants and was able to feed the team healthy foods (ie: non-pizza) during crunch time for the same budgeted cost allowed. My theory is to keep the team as happy as possible to allow them to work their best. Specialties: Database administration. Defect tracking systems experience: Test Track Pro & DevTrack. Accounting & financial tracking. Understanding of the graphics pipeline for games (Area 51 & Blacksite Area 51) and computer generated feature films (Shrek, Spirit, and Sinbad to name a few).
