I love making complex things simple, elegant and efficient. Writing, documentation and workflow design are my passions within the IT space.(I also nerd out on reporting and training.) I'm very much process oriented and 25+ years of experience in two very demanding professions has proven to me that well thought out and easily approachable documentation can make or break a team. As a stickler for detail and a dyed-in-the-wool process nut, my DNA is formed out of singular desire to make things easier for everyone I work with. I transitioned into IT after I decided to "retire" my knives after working as a Chef for twenty years. I have an old school work ethic that is heavily influenced by the apprenticeship model. I love to teach and I love to learn. There's nothing in the world more gratifying than making a process, method, or technique EASY for someone to grasp. It allows the path to mastery of skill to be smooth, fun and economical in terms of both time and cost to train. Well trained professionals make better teachers and they are more apt to share their knowledge with their team and customers if the way they were trained was simple and memorable. I want to be the guy that makes things easier for everyone. It's that simple. That's what drives me. After a COVID related layoff in April of 2020, I decided to take some much needed "me time" away from work. Now, just over a year later, I am looking to get back into the technology game with a company that is keen on hiring a leader who is both eager to learn and hungry to make an impact. The breadth of my experience is within the ITSM platform space.(ServiceNow and Ivanti). I enjoyed my time as an IT Change Manager as well. Specific Technologies don't really influence my career objectives. I simply enjoy the mental game of process engineering for the above reasons stated. Having said that, technology turn-ons for me, in addition to ServiceNow, would most definitely include Ivanti, MS Power BI, Spotfire, Tableau, Visio, and CMDB design and management. Given the opportunity, I would happily dive blindfold and headfirst into an opportunity to learn data analytics or work with Spotfire and/or Power BI, even if it was just part of my primary role.
