A highly resourceful and adaptable Geographic Information and Mapping Specialist with fifteen years’ direct experience in the Geographic Information (GI) industry, building upon a previous fourteen years in the related disciplines of surveying and mapping (Geomatics). Key technical skills include- Advanced user of ArcGIS Desktop software (including Network Analyst, ESRI (UK) Productivity Suite, ArcGIS Online), proficient with MapInfo and QGIS- Excellent cartographic, map production, data capture skills- Experience in the production of mapping in support of DCO Applications for major linear utillity projects, e.g. Utility Searches, Land Referencing, Land Plans, Works Plans etc- Highly experienced and effective trainer specialising in teaching ArcGIS and its applications to a broad audience. Has authored a range of training material for ArcGIS from basic to advanced level- Skilled in development of data management and GIS strategy- High level of familiarity with Ordnance Survey and other suppliers’ data and formats, and PSMA arrangements - Strong background in Land Surveying, familiar with GPS techniques and in use of Trimble GeoExplorer and GPS Pathfinder software. Key transferable skills include- Effective communicator capable of conveying concepts clearly and concisely using the written and spoken word - Logical thinker adept at analysing and finding solutions to complex business problems quickly and efficiently - Experienced and effective trainer and presenter, capable of contextualising theoretical techniques to suit a diverse audience - Good knowledge of current geo-industry drivers derived from thirteen years working with public & private sector clients - Works well as part of a team, good at delegating whilst retaining control and responsibility Rob is married with 3 children, is a keen squash player and follows the trials and tribulations of Everton FC as well as coaching and looking after the finances of his local junior football team.
