About Rob McCarthy

I started my journey as a call centre coordinator at DS Smith Recycling working with Tesco to support national service delivery. I quickly moved on to manage a customer deposit scheme project for Tesco as a contracts manager, managing a £1M project from a loss leading project to cost neutral. This lead me to take a new position as an account manager responsible for 5 high street retailers, dealing with all aspects of waste management and account management processes. One of these accounts was Primark UK which I managed for 5 years. I worked up to a Commercial Manager position, working with wider areas of the business across The UK and Europe supporting staff and the wider business function. I moved over to Veolia in 2017, working within the material export area of our national accounts team, and national retailers. I am now managing a number of national customers from retail to care homes, charity shops and logistics. and so my career continues. There’s my journey in a blink.
